As of Monday, February 15 2010, Bushidokan of Fresno classes have moved to Centerpoint Fitness Center at 3003 N. Maroa (north of the train tracks, south of Shields Ave.).

All adults must join Centerpoint gym, which is $40 per month, and then pay Sensei Dave $25 per month, for a total of $65 per month. This is only $10 more than the previous monthly dojo fee, and you get a full gym membership out of it.

Centerpoint is a large gym with weight rooms, basketball court, racketball courts, cardio and cycling rooms, and more.

Teenagers pay $60 per month for Bushidokan classes (no facility use).

There is an alternate plan for any teenager over 14 who is interested in a gym membership.

Kids 12 and under $50.

Those with family plans please see Sensei Dave. Your package will transfer over.

Schedule Change

Please note that the class schedule has changed. For the moment, and Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes will begin at 6:30pm, for children and adults. Children will continue to 7:30pm, and adults to 8pm.

The Saturday morning class time is not yet fixed. It will probably begin at 10:30pm, but it might be a bit later.

This website is still undergoing redevelopment. The photo gallery will be back soon, along with a new video page as well.

What we teach:

We teach Jujitsu as art and common sense self defense. Jujitsu traces its heritage to the Samurai on the battle field. It has recently been referred to as the art of modern times. What distinguishes KoKoDo Jujitsu is the gentleness of it’s techniques coupled with the sharp pain forcing compliance.

We are part of the KoKoDo Jujitsu under Grandmaster Yasuhiro Irie.

KoKoDo Jujitsu is a system which uses the body’s Keiraku (meridian system) to create varying amounts of pain to control an attacker without necessarily causing serious injury.

KoKoDo techniques usually involve Osae (arresting) or Nage/Otoshi (throwing/dropping) techniques. These may utilize Keiraku, Katame (joint locks), and/or methods of Kuzushi (off-balancing). The primary instruction is through Kihon Waza (Basic Technique) which utilize Gensoku (principles). The KoKoDo Jujitsu system is based on principles not set techniques for various situations. Once a student has mastered the principle, he or she is able to develop their own Henka (variations).

Who do we teach:

We have classes for kids, and adults. We have open classes where all may attend. See the Class Schedule page for class times.
