Kenpo Seminar Friday May 28th – May 29th

7th degree black belt Matt Godsil of the Quad Cities will be coming out at the end of May to teach a Kenpo seminar. All students should try to attend.

Tentative schedule:

Instruction will begin Friday May 28th with three sessions: 9am, 1pm and 6:30pm.

The Saturday session will start at 9am and will focus on Kokodo Jujitsu. Saturday at 1pm will be Kenpo again. Saturday evening we’ll have a group dinner and all are invited.

There will be a Sunday session for black belts only.

Attendance fee: $45 per student.

Congratulations to Noah, who recently received his brown belt in Kenpo. Noah attends class faithfully and regularly practices at home, and it shows. He is also frequently called upon to teach katas to the children.

Congratulations also to Scott Davidson, who has been promoted to brown belt (San Kyu) in Kenpo as well. Scott’s punches, kicks and katas are always sharp.

Upcoming Seminars

April 24th, 2010

Kokodo Jujitsu in May (UPDATE: CANCELLED)

There will be a Kokodo Jujitsu seminar at Yossokan Dojo of Monterey California in mid May. Kaidan Shihan James Cambpell will host Kaiden Shihan Ivo Belmans of Belgium for a one day seminar on Saturday May 15th. The fee is $100 per student. All students are invited. UPDATE: The Monterey seminar has been cancelled by Kaiden Shihan James Campbell.

June or July, Kododo Jujitsu

Shihan Seamark will be returning for a Jujitsu seminar this summer. The date has not been set yet.

September, Shorin-Ryu Matsumura Kenpo and Kobudo

Grandmaster Tomasada Kuda will teach a seminar in Minneapolis. The specific date has not been set yet. If any students can save money for that seminar, we encourage you to do so. It will be three solid day of hard training.

Update to class schedule at Centerpoint

Please note that although there was a brief change in the Bushidokan class schedule at the new Centerpoint gym location, the schedule has now returned to the usual Monday-Wednesday-Friday.

The times are the same, 6:30pm to 8pm (the children’s class ends at 7:30pm). For class location please check either the basketball court or racketball court number 8.

Saturday class is at 10:30 am in racketball court number 8.

As you may have discovered, the basketball court is very warm. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles or thermoses.

Bushidokan of Fresno has Moved

As of Monday, February 15 2010, Bushidokan of Fresno classes have moved to Centerpoint Fitness Center at 3003 N. Maroa (north of the train tracks, south of Shields Ave.).

All adults must join Centerpoint gym, which is $40 per month, and then pay Sensei Dave $25 per month, for a total of $65 per month. This is only $10 more than the previous monthly dojo fee, and you get a full gym membership out of it.

Centerpoint is a large gym with weight rooms, basketball court, racketball courts, cardio and cycling rooms, and more.

Teenagers pay $60 per month for Bushidokan classes (no facility use).

There is an alternate plan for any teenager over 14 who is interested in a gym membership.

Kids 12 and under $50.

Those with family plans please see Sensei Dave. Your package will transfer over.

Schedule Change

Please note that the class schedule has changed. For the moment, and Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes will begin at 6:30pm, for children and adults. Children will continue to 7:30pm, and adults to 8pm.

The Saturday morning class time is not yet fixed. It will probably begin at 10:30pm, but it might be a bit later.
